ざっくり言うと

学問の神様 菅原道真を祀る

太宰府天満宮の名物である。

（ほんとにざっくり笑）

Umegae mochi

: It’s a Dazaifu’s traditional local specialty.

The sweet red bean filling wrapped in mochi（rice cake/ rice dough）, lightly baked and stamped with a plum blossom, goes great with Matcha（green tea）. You can get them on the street leading to Dazaifu shrine and I recommend you try just baked hot ones there! You can also get them at big stations like Hakata for souvenirs.
